This 1972 Satellite Sebring plus was built on June 17 1972 according to its fender tag and build sheet.
I bought it as a 'Road Runner Clone' 9 year ago as a broke college student desperate to get my hands on my favorite classic Mopar.
Was it a wise decision?
No.
Did I have rose colored glasses on when I laid down $3700 for the title?
Oh yeah.
Was there SUBSTANTIALLY more rust and bondo then I could have imagined?
Of course, and then some.
Did it take 10 times longer and cost many times more than I anticipated?
You bet.
Do I regret saving this car that most people would have wrote off and parted out?
Never.
This car was my first car. I bought it with the money I could scrape together after my internships and it has stuck around longer than the other cars between. Its currently powered by the 318 and 904 out of my dad's first car (which is pretty cool). And even though the panel gaps are crap and the paint has chips, I smile every time I go into the garage.
Happy Buildday
