MY 1969 Dodge Coronet R/T

Where we stand now on a rebuild It's Painted

About this Mopar:

Year
1969
Make
Dodge
Model
Coronert R/T
I purchased 1969 Super Bee in 2012 running the numbers it's a Coronet R/T and is a clone as it has a 1978 440 and a 1978 727 3 speed transmission. The car was purchased out of Minnesota.

Have been working on it since then and have finally made it's painted point with 2 clear coats on it and down to the last few things to put on road.
It has morphed from a simple paint and put on the road to a lot more of a rebuild.

I and my partner in this crime have been at for 10 years minus 2 years to do a 1950 Dodge Coronet Deluxe in the beginning.

What has been done to the car, the following list hits most the highpoints.

New front floor pan with the car needing to chained to the garage floor to straighten and get the pan to fit and lay flat. The old girl has been out through the pucker brush at least once as it is twisted and out of shape a little.

One rear quarter, one door and one front fender needed to be replaced as they were more expense and time consuming to repair then to replace. The recommended stiffing of the front end body connection area was under taken by a kit and the springs for the rear end were replaced with a Lynx front coil over 4 point suspension system with Viking shocks.

The car has been sound deaden and insulated with both home made thermo sound deadening material and a Thermo-tex Dynamat kit.

The car has had a new American wire wiring harness installed.

The engine is 440 with a Holley 4 barrel double pumper 4150 series fed with a 1/2 in fuel line and a Holly fuel pump. The only work done on the engine as it ran well when I got the car! Was to replace the valve lifter springs as one side had been redone but not the other, so redid both sides adding little bit heavier springs and a 8 quart oil pan with a high volume oil pump were installed. Ignition up graded to electronic.

The exhaust was ported to match the TTI headers. Also changed the car now has an electric radiator fan, and last but not least AC was installed with a Classic Auto Air complete heating and AC system.

The front end has been changed to a rack and pinon steering kit attached to the K-member. The car has been up graded to 4 wheel disk brakes and an electric brake pump.

The transmission was rebuilt by Mountain Missile Al out of Gorham NH and a big thanks to Al!

Further down the running gear there is a Gear Vender under/over drive other than new universal joints the rear end had new green bearings installed.

The engine bay has had the battery moved to the trunk and turned to a dual battery system.

The rims are Cragar S/S Super Sport 15" x 7" in front and 17" x 9" in the rear. The front tires are Continental I think z rated touring tires and the rear are unnamed drifter tires as close to street legal drag tires as possible. Wide and sticky with some tread

The car is painted a 1949 Dodge Chroma color Tunis Blue Metallic.
The interior is blue rug, white seats and golden burl hydro dipped trim.

We did all the hydro dipping ourselves in an 300 gallon watering tank as it was the only thing we could find to fit the dash in.
