1157 bulbs on 1971 GTX parking lights

I had an intermetitant problem with my parking/signal light. I twisted the bulb and the light came on so I decided to remove the bulb and apply some di-electric grease. The old bulb broke in the base which I was able to remove. Now I can't seem to get the new bulb to lock the two side tabs. Wondering if anyone has had this issue and what's how did you resolve?

Just in case-
You do know the bulbs will only go in one way, yes? One pin is higher than the other-one slot is deep, the other shallow.
OK, Also, I've had where the contact on the bulb was kind of "mooshed" not allowing me to push and twist the bulb, smoothing the contacts helped with that.
beyond that, I'm at a loss.

yes noticed that one tab is offset with the other so it can only fit one way. I tried smoothing the contact also with no luck. Appreciate your guidence.

success, was finally able to lock the tabs and parking light works. Thank you!
