I just ran across this article on CNN.com about a young girl that is rebuilding a 1986 Pontiac Fiero. Unfortunately she's not into Mopars yet, but it is a great story and I'm sure her parents are very proud. Next time you hear somebody complain about kids today, tell them about this young lady. I'm sure she has a very bright future!

Kick ***, i know a girl who restored tractors in FFA, then she went school for auto restoration in Kansas now she does Public Relations with kids for Hagerty insurance and they fly her everywhere.

its about time girls are learning how to do something besides SPEND OUR MONEY ! i would be proud if she were my kid..... but im not allowed to have kids..(gov't papers dontchaknow)...and besides that , im allergic .

That's a great story, I think girls/women should learn about cars, not just the typical girly stuff... Mine would hang with me in the garage & go to the races &/or travel with me allot, especially when they were real young, I had my girls, Rachel, Rebecca, Jessica, even Lisa their mother, all learn to do the basics on cars, identify parts, do detailing/cleaning, help me when fabricating, welding or wet sand my projects etc., also to do brakes, battery up keep & replacement, tire rotation, lube, oil & filter changes, check fluid levels etc., even some tune ups & minor modifications, with some supervision/assistance, usually reluctantly I may add...LOL..., after all they were all girly girls, pre-teen & teenage girls, at the time... Smart girls, they all hooked up with decent men & "car guys" now, that can maintain their own cars, they don't do much any more, but they could talk cars, with most anyone, they thank me now...LOL.. also because they can see the automotive scams, coming from a mile away, I would like to think, I had a big part in their education & knowledge about cars & the men who love cars, I'm very proud of them all...

:sSig_goodjob: Budnicks! A whole clan of lady mechanics is not something you see every day - and not something all dads would be willing to encourage. A+ all the way.

Thats sweet, Kind of an odd car for someone that young to be attracted to... speaking of women and cars my dad sold a pair of slicks last week and the buyer was a young 20's very attractive female with a supercharged mustang that she built. I know it isn't mopar but man how I wish I was able to go with him on that deal...

Very nice story! Her parents have a lot to be proud of and the question asked "Is it just me, or do I have a really cool daughter?" That answer is a definite yes! Imagine if she would continue over the years what a future could and most likely would be like...

Great story, heck , my daughter helped me with my Charger, she has no problem crawling under the car, getting her hands dirty to help dad. She wants to learn to drive it. In fact, she also wants to learn to drive my '31 Ford, that will be a learning experience with a non syncromesh trans and mechanical brakes and a whopping 40hp.

LOL I just met a girl several years younger than this one yesterday who just loved my roadrunner. Maybe we'll see a whole new group of women wrenches in the future.

Thanks, I grew up with 5 sisters 3 younger {2 were adopted} & 2 older, & 2 younger step brothers, a blended family, a step father Bob that was a total car guy & my Pops who is not very car savvy at all, all my sisters were encouraged to learn the basics, one of my older sisters Candy, was a total TOM BOY especially for the 60's- early 70's era, she did everything I did growing up with bicycles, mini-bikes, go-carts, motorcycles & even cars, until she got boy crazy, married young, "a car guy, by the way".... But my step father Bob, was great at sharing/teaching stuff about cars, body/paint work, welding, fabrication & racing, that was really the only thing we had in common... He pretty much did the same thing with my older sisters, they had to "pass a test", before they could even take drivers-ed or try to get their learners permit/license, none of them really stuck with the car thing, after their late teens, but it made a lasting impression on me & how to raise girls, it doen't hurt to know the basics, even if you don't use them much... I followed his teachings & example in that way anyway, not much in any other ways thou....
