1947 Lincoln Zephyr

Pretty cool

Looks like a good candidate for a restoration or resto-mod...I wouldn't mind doing a project like that myself.

Not many of those around. The Lincolns were a big upgrade from the usual Ford and Mercury offerings of that time. A real status symbol of my parents generation. Looks like it's mostly there, which is good because I'm betting it'd be hell to find parts.

the Guy Richard from "gas monkey garage" bought a 48 Lincoln {not sure if it was a Zephyr or not} a while back at some Texas auction, I wonder if they will do a show on it... I've seen a few 39-41's never seen a 47

That's what i was thinking.

Interesting looking outside door handles.

I would almost buy this thing just to set in the garage to look at.

For those in Texas:

This one still has the flathead V12 in it. If I hadn't just bought another car, I would have already called on it.

Wife and I have already had the discussion "no more new old cars for now," or I'd go look at it...it's practically in my back yard! I guess the good thing about the discussion is that we have to go both ways with it (she loves the old car projects too)...

But man, that looks like a good starting point -- most if not all of the chrome is there, and it looks pretty solid.

My papa said "Son, you gonna drive me to drinkin' if you don't stop drivin' that hot rod Lincoln..."

This is a 48 my Father and I restored before he passed
