Does anyone have any info on what would be involved to convert a 1965 cable BB727 for use in a 1969 Plymouth RR.

i have a good lead on one that's available at a good price but not sure what's involved in the conversion from the cable push button controls.

Thanks

mike

none of the '69 factory shift or kickdown linkage will bolt to it. you'll need a floor shifter set up for a cable trans. personally i'd just pass on it and get a '67 up; they're more plentiful and converters are much easier to find.

Not to mention the stock pump won't fit a 67 and newer converter, trans mount holes are different, speedo cable won't fit. Sell the 65 as a core. They're worth around $350. One year only push button with a slip yoke. Then get a standard BB 727.

65 trans w/ slip yoke use same mount as a 69. For a shifter if you use a manual valve body the cable shift is blocked and the trans shifted by a lever that was the kick down lever. But you still have the small input shaft. I run one of those trans. A 65 built by Art Carr about 1970. Rmvb,10"convertor. 64 Polara street racer with a tunnel rammed hemi, dual 660s. Then the owner went to Nam. Came home different. Never used the car. Just started it once in a while. Lucky enough to pick it up about '86. Went through the motor. Didnt touch the trans. Swapped into a 64 belvedere i had. Gave it to my dad to drive...for about 20 years or so. He drove it all over in the ontario area. I did swap to a 4 barrel manifold,830 dp.holley. Finally pulled the engine and driver. Both were tired. Installed a fresh hemi. And still the same trans. Just regular maintence. Shifts hard! Guess theres a reason some of those guys got a rep.

Copy, thank you!
