Do the 413's really go for that much? I was just offered a running 413 and trans out of a '65 New Yorker with 70k miles for $700. Also, what trans would that be, and how hard to put into a '65 Berlvedere II?

Also, will the trans from the 413 fit a '71 440 that is also available to me?

Only if your willing to spend that kind of money on a used engine... then yep!
Restoring something special, do you NEED that engine trans to complete that project?
(A fool and his money are easily parted.)

And it's still sitting for sale somewhere? Tell me where it is! Woo Hoo!

A 727. It should bolt in.

Lets see, ummm, same size blocks..... I think it'll swap right over. I'm not a big block guy, so, unless there's some cave eat that I am not aware of, like the small blocks do when they get around this age... (Crank flange issue) then you should be OK.

I've given a couple away.

Other than the good forged crank they're pretty much boat anchors to me.

440 bolts in place and has a stronger block (stiffening ribs on the side) and better piston/ring pack selection.

Unless it's a solid lifter 2x4bbl 300 H motor you will have it a long time at that price. The transmission is cable shift, that's where you run into problems putting it in something 66 and newer.

first post and no reply after over two weeks. he thinks hes got gold and hes singed up for every mopar website trying to sell it I bet. There is a 413 and reman auto trans in a 62 chrysler in a local junk yard. It could be had for 125 engine, 75 trans. It's been there for at least a month and it's still there. I pulled the 8 3/4 out of it and left the rest.

First no, the car has been in the family since it was new. Second, there are aprox 38 cars and 7 trucks on the farm. third, we are the fourth generation to live on the farm. That said, thanks for your input CLOWN!!! I think the forum rules state not to run people or there products through the mud. However you must have missed that along the way SOME HOW. Its probably to difficult to understand. im sure most of spend all day trying to put round pegs in sqaure holes.
