Hi this is my first post I have a 1963 plymouth belevdere and I cant seem to get the gauges out it seems to be stuck on the heater controls any help ,helps.

You need to remove the fan speed knob and heat/ cool lever knob. Both have a small set screw holding them to the post, takes a hex key to remove.

Thanks, now that it is out, is it possible to just replace The speedometer I wanted to put a gps speedometer

Well I'll be! Had to look it up because I didn't know such a speedo existed. Pretty cool.

The original speedo is held in with 2 screws from the back. Remove them and find a speedo that will fit the opening. You may have to fab a mounting bracket or possibly modify the back of the cluster but I cannot see a reason why ond wouldn't fit

I found one for my trans am when replacing the gauges, they are very accurate no matter what tire and wheel combo and they wire up very easy! Power, ground, switched power, lights and antenna( that sits on the dash).

Also your right I cant find a 6" speedo Ill probably get a 4 1\2" and get a peace of aluminum not the most ideal situation but cops in my area are not nice and it one last thing I have to worry about.

But Im concerned about wiring of the dash because I know when I un hooked the large black and red wire from the left side it cut power to the ignition, Im wondering if the speedo is wire in series or anything like that ?

I'm pretty sure those wires are connected to the Ammeter, you can attach them together to complete the circuit, this will allow you to be able to start the car.

I found that out today! Kinda odd that Chrysler did this but I connected the wires and am all good now (until the cluster goes back in).

That stock ammeter is a weak link and causes more harness melting than ANY other circuit in the car!!
