Hi
I have a 4 door sedan 1963 Plymouth Belvedere. I was thinking about rebuild it to a 2 door sedan. Now the question:

Do I have to have doors from a 1963 2d b-body, or are the doors the same 63-65? I dont care about if the inside upholstrey don't match.

Best regards - Peter from Sweden

The doors on a 2 door are a lot longer than on a 4 door. To do a true conversion to a 2 door you will need the doors. If you want to do it on the cheap you can just weld up the rear doors and door handles - but it might look a bit odd :)

63 doors are not the same as 64-65 doors. The angle of the front vent window is different.

I need a door for my 63 and had bought one from a 64 before I figured out there was a difference.

and just to clarify, 62's are completely diffferent for body line.

Hi again

I have found a 2d sedan car here in sweden. But doors are long gone and seams hard to find. The other metalparts can be found though but must be cut off the car. If i convert my 4 door then it will be a proffesionally done by me. I will cut up a 2d body.

The doors from 64-65, are they the same otherwise except the vent window? If I change both doors and take doors from lets say a 1965 2d and put them on my 63, will the change in vent window change be visable for the ordinary eye??

Best regards - Peter from Sweden

yes, ive seen it done. you have to change out the vent window and change the angle of the window frame.

A door from a 64 or 65 are the same. A '63 is different in the door latch area and also the vent window area. The roof line is different on a '63 to a '64,'65. The windshield is laid back further in '63 resulting in a different wing window.(Also different windshield.) I have converted '63 doors to '64-'65 doors by cutting the upper frame and changing the forward portion of the door. A 4 door forward portion will work. A 4 door sedan has a different angle at the b-pilar, so the rear half of the upper frame is wrong to use on a 2 door. The door glass is the same from a '63 to '65 sedan, but obviously not the wing window. These steps should also work in reverse- meaning making a '63 door from a '64,'65.

Another thing to keep in mind is the difference in wheel base from the Dodge to Plymouth when measuring and swapping floor pans, rear panels etc....

The rear foot well pan is longer for the 63/4 Dodges. Frames and other pans are the same.

I have a full and complete 63 SAVOY 2 door sedan, that I will be parting out.
What do you need?

The 63 2- dr sdn doors are a 1 year door (Dodge and Plymouth)
The 64 -65 2- dr sdn doors are the same ( Dodge or Plymouth)
You can convert 2-dr hdtp doors if you are skilled from the 4 dr sdn door frames.
The 2- dr sdn door glass 63-65 is the same.
The quarter glass 63-65 is the same.
The vent glass 63 are the same.
The vent glass 64-65 are the same.

Here are some pictures that you can see the differences in the latches,
vents, and where the difference in the wheelbase is make up.I am going
to do a 64 Belvedere 4 door to 2 door conversion,so I have been taking
alot of pictures and doing research on the differences.
