Long winded description, please read it all.1963 Dodge Polara convertible. This is the craigslist ad that I placed <1963 Dodge Polara for sale by owner - Walled Lake, MI - craigslist> Weather got better so I was able to get the car outside for some pictures as it is now. Put the top up but didn't latch as it will be going back down. Aqua is the original factory color (code J).I purchased this car as a late retirement project. Previous owner was less than honest as I found out later. Both fenders were heavy with bondo. I purchased both left and right fenders from Wildcat junk yard in the desert. Very nice! Very expensive but nice. I then had them both chemically stripped to bare steel. Etch primed then primed. The passenger door must have been replaced at some point. Super solid! The driver’s door was garbage. The previous owner included a spare “500” door. Took it completely apart, had it chemically stripped, welded up the “500” trim holes as mine is a Polara.Fabricated and welded in “subframe connectors” from 2X2X1/8” steel. Not because I planned on racing but because I could.Cut out the soft front floor pans and butt welded in replacements from AMD.Previous owner installed a new stock master cylinder, wheel cylinders, flex hoses and shoes.I found a lot of bondo in both quarters. Left quarter was bad at the bottom. Welded in Sherman repair panels. Same for both trunk drop downs. The right quarter was complete trash. Previous owner included a NOS quarter panel. Really nice. At this point I have removed the quarter from just below the trim. Solid above that. Used a combination of panel adhesive (same new cars are built), at the trim line along with welding where necessary. The 318 2bbl poly fires right up, thanks to a pertronix ignition.I changed the trans fluid and filter. Works as it should. Absolutely everything works except the clock. Clean Tennessee title in my name. Currently at my second home in Michigan. Original 318 poly engineOriginal 727 pushbutton transmissionPower steering Previous owner installed. New master cylinder. New wheel cylinders. New brakes. New brake hoses. New gas tank. New power top cylinders. New power top pump. New fuel pump. New water pump. New spark plugs. New carb4 new tires. New car cover still in original packaging. I purchased the original color (aqua) paint in the original acrylic enamel formula. Car has all The sheet metal work completed, all of the bodywork completed, all of the gaps set. The engine bay and door jams are done. Car has been blocked. At this point, ready to use either 600 or black scotch brites, then paint then assembly. Current owner installed: Original distributor rebuilt, new correct NOS advance unit, new cap, rotor New transmission filter New transmission linesNew choke stove. New starter (original still good) New freeze plugs All fluids changed Spark plug wires Replaced original leather 8 ¾ pinion seal with neoprene New fuel sending unit & ground strap NOS fuel tank lock ring and gasket. New correct size (5/16" rubber fuel lines. New steel (proper) fuel filter.
