I am looking for a replacement for the the plastic side molding clips for my Belvedere. I can't seem to find the same ones. What clips can I use? IMG_0462.jpgIMG_0462.jpg

Try contacting Joe Suchy in Georgia. He is an expert on 64 Plymouths. You can google him, but he doesn't have a website so you will have to call him. Great guy.

Also, those are the same for a polara 500, and can be found on eBay.

Ah, I have been down this trail. They make repops but snapping the molding on ,they are VERY tight. I cut all mine down and test fitted each clip on scrap parts. i also trimmed a 2x4 to back up the panels when I snapped them on. A lot of work, but far lessthan denting the finished body. I do have a few originals left if you only need a few. 64 Plymouth Belvedere/Fury side trim question .

Looks like the same style clips on my 66 Belvedere, anyway I sent Restoration Specialties a sample from the Belvedere and naturally they didn't have the size I needed so I went to a local auto paint supply store with an old clip and piece of trim. Here is what I came up with.

I plan to paint the clips, apply never seize to the threads and use them to apply the side molding. My thinking is with this style clip I have control on how much tension I can put on the trim. I have seen guys use the factory clips, some time's the clips break or pull the molding to tight marring the paint. Just my thoughts/suggestion's. Good luck, BinkDSCN0160.jpgDSCN0161.jpgDSCN0162.jpgDSCN0165.jpgDSCN0168.jpg

Good luck with some of those areas that you can't get to, but if your arm is capable of twisting like a pretzel, you might get them in. Gotta say, it is a good idea!!

Thanks, I did do a dry fit and the clips that protrude thru the body at the rear fender wells is a squeeze but I can get them secured. Bink

Sweet!! How about the doors?

I used the metal clips on my front fenders. My doors and 1/4's are plastic. Be VERY CAREFUL tightening the clips. My buddy rippled the side of his Belvedere which had a VERY NICE straight body. The worst part, it was a original Hemi car. If your carefull when your done it'll come out like this.

I bought a kit on eBay years ago, might have been from rtspecialties, anyway, it was 150 bones, and it was all the plastic pieces for the side trim for a polara 500.

try a company called Disco. they carry all types of molding clips. they have a catalog that you can compare to your clip too
