Hello everybody. I’m looking for a 1964 Heater control valve, non AC. What is everybody doing when these fail? Can’t find them new or aftermarket. When you google it everybody thinks I’m talking about the heater controls on the dash. I’m looking to repair or replace the valve on the heater core. Any ideas?
Thanks, Troy

I googled them about a month ago.. found 3 or 4 on Ebag and AMS obsolete... around $400 bucks. The one in my car has been butchered and a manual control valve installed in the heater hose. There is currently a thread going that should only be a page or two down the list on how to rebuild them...

There is a guy in Texas that rebuilds them, his last name is Powell. Let me see if I can find his email address. His email address is [email protected]
He does excellent work and stands behind what he does and he is very reasonable.

I rebuilt my own heater control. Took out all the old plastic pins and replaced them with copper tubing. They are press fit and I added a little JB weld insurance. Not all that hard. Be careful not to drill to deep as there is a "slider" under the holes that direct the vacuum. when you push the buttons.

I rebuilt the valve in my 62 300 the same way except I used Aluminum or steel pop rivets after removing the shaft / pin from the rivet. You will have a flange on the rivet body to work with.
