Hi all, I'm relatively new here, but have always wondered where my Dad's (Bruce Hinrichs) old Polara went. Hoping it ended up in the hands of an enthusiast and not some stuffy collector that keeps it in a climate controlled shop.

The car was restored by Muscle Car Restorations in the late 80's, and won "Best of Show" at the MoPar Nationals in 1992. It's a white car, blue interior, blue top. 383 4 speed car, and I can detail the "non original" items it had snuck in to the restoration.

My folks divorced 20 or so years ago, my Dad re-married almost right away, but passed away about 10 years ago. Shortly after his passing, his second wife very deceitfully sold the car without even mentioning it to my brother and I. I'm not looking to go after the car. It is what it is. I was just a big part of the resto and would like to know if someone here has it or might know where it is/seen it at a show. It would have been purchased from Green Bay, WI about 10 years ago, and have not seen it at a Wisconsin show since then.

Sadly, I don't even have any pictures of the car, though there were albums full of them. Below is a pic of the car from the Wisconsin Mopar Muscle Club's website. Thanks in advance for any help!

The blue top should be a dead give away. Don't see that combo and I can't say I've ever seen it before. A lot of us are going to Chrysler Carlisle this year and you never know what will turn up there!

Good luck in your search. It should belong to you and your brother...

Good luck with the search. I wonder if it's possible to search for a vin # anywhere? If you happen to have it.

Good luck on the search. I will keep my eyes and ears open.

Sonny's eyes are open!
:icon_rolleyes:
hope it works out for you,,

I hate to say it,but it might of ended it up in some stuffy collectors climate controlled shop...is this it? !BOJGqBwBWk~$(KGrHgoOKj4EjlLmY+TiBJtJdKk4Qw~~_3.jpga18f_3.jpgThis ones mine but im sure this ones not it ..its an automatic..GP_06262011_25.jpgJoes7282013_013.jpggood luck with your search.

I hope that you find her, Smokngun. Sorry to read that you or your brother weren't at least given the opportunity to buy the car when your dad passed.....

Thanks all. When it was restored/sold, it had the 64 spinner wheel covers kind of like the picture of the car above (in front of the fence) though that car has a black boot for the top. Not to say someone couldn't have changed wheels. The easy way to tell if it is "The" car and could only be seen in person: If you look at the "foil" inserts on the door panels, they were installed upside down when the door panels were restored. The dozens of little embossed 3 pointed Dodge emblems are upside down. It was never caught at the concourse judging at the Nat's in 1992, that is how subtle it is. But if you are looking for it, it's easy to spot.

The car also has 4.10 gears in it (although the paint codes on the diff indicate the original 3.23's) and a mild Crane Cam that was obviously not stock.

I agree, my brother and/or I should have been given the right to turn it down before she sold it. It was in our family before my Dad even met her, so it should have been subject to blood family property before marital property. But like I said, it is what it is.

Sorry to hear of Bruce's passing, he was a great guy, I worked on his car after it left Balow's shop , he brought it to my shop in Edgar Wi. and I helped him get it running etc. we had a blast, he was pretty fussy about everything but it paid off with the win at the nats, I have the magazine somewhere also cause he mentioned my name in it. that was a pretty car.

Thanks for the kind words Russ, Glad to hear from you.

He was very particular about every detail about the car. I think he knew he had one shot to make this car "right". It set a few standards for it's time and you and Balow were a huge part of that.
