I have really enjoyed the past few years on this site. My 64 should have been done by now but this economy has stopped my work. I have decided to try and sell the car or put it in long term storage for 2-5 years. I am not happy but that is life. Check it out in the cars for sale section.. The car is listed on EBay

Selling your car

I'm in a similiar situation with my 63 project, money has slowed the work to a crawl. You are much further along than me, mine is sitting on a rotisserie in primer still waiting for AMD quarter patch panels. I'm trying to figure out how to finish the car knowing full well that selling would mean pennies on the dollar for what I have in it. My budgeted money and the rest that I can get my hands on gone. Friends keep saying when are you going to finish that car or you will never finish it. I'm going as fast as the money allows me to and am commited to prove the naysayers wrong.

I hope you end up figuring how to keep it and finish it some day. Good luck!

Sorry to hear your thinking of selling the 64!Looks like it was on its way to be a nice ride.IMO put it in storage if you have room no sense in giving it away!

Yeah sorry to hear that, your car looks really nice.

If you can't get the money you deserve out if it, just store it. You know in five years you'll want another car... And you'll already have it!

Good luck.

Sweet lookin car, looks like its all but done to look at it!

Thanks for all the kind words. It may not sell and then I will just store it ! It's painful either way. It's nice to know that other guys are having the same problem I am having. It is the car I always wanted and if it sells I will have another one but it won't be like this one !

Moose i can understand but if thats the car of your dreams, you'll be sorry later if ya sell it. Did that once, still sorry.

If you're seriously strapped for cash and selling the car will mean the difference between keeping or loosing your home then yeah, get rid of it. If it's simply a matter of not being able to afford to continue the project right now then take a hiatus and stash it away someplace until you're ready to pick it up again.

In 1995 my car went into a friends body shop to be painted. While it was in there I bought a basket case of a house. When the car was done I was pre-occupied with home improvement projects so the car sat. Then I met my wife, got married, dog, kid, started a business, in other words, life kinda took over. I had a lot of inquiries about selling but never accepted any offers. About two years ago i decided to blow the dust off of it and get back into the swing. Glad I held out.
