How does one identify what speed switch is in one's car?
Did you bench test the one you have? It could just be the contacts under the cover plate. Sitting for a long time, they might just need a little help to get them started again. Check the fuse also.
Yes! they had variable speed wipersA variable speed on a 64?

What do you mean by variable speed, I guess I’ve only seen a 2 speed and single speed on an early B body.Yes! they had variable speed wipers
The switch has no positions except off. Works as a rheostat just like your headlight switch when you dim the interior and dash lights. What do you mean by variable speed, I guess I’ve only seen a 2 speed and 3 speed on an early B body.
That’s what I thought you meant, I’ve never seen one. You learn something new everyday. The switch has no positions except off. Works as a rheostat just like your headlight switch when you dim the interior and dash lights.
They use a bar resistance plate on the back of the switch to control the voltage. It also has a circuit breaker.Does it have a relay like the light switch
