Yeah, the GTO was running the streets at the same time as these were.
A Road & Track test in 1965 compared the 65' GTO with this 383 CI 65 Belvedere.
The Plymouth beat the GTO.
It received a truly great rating BUT, as Jim Wangers and the BIG GM Machine always did...
They marketed the GTO as "The Car"
(Clever marketing and it worked)
Jim Wangers was a genius!
