Which shifter came from the factory on a 1966 Belvedere II with Hemi, no console? The Hurst 4-speed with white ball or the Inland shifter with reverse lockout tee? thanks.

If you can find a nice one for your car, buy it and put it away. Do not use it! They are so sloppy they are hard on your transmission.
It will be hard on your engine too, if you miss a shift.

Good for originality, Bad for use.

Yes, this is just my opinion from 56 years with my 66 Belvedere.

I believe Mr. Sox was extremely successful with the Inand.

On my Inland I eliminated the rubber bushings where the shifter bolts on and machined some spacers so it's a solid mount. Cleaned and lubed, adjusted correctly. Made a big difference.

440 4 Speed, Are you sure that Ronnie Sox used an Inland shifter? Didn't the 65's come with Hurst? I would be surprised that he didn't continue with the 65 Shifter.

I adapted an Inland lever to a Hurst shifter for my 1967 Coronet R/T wagon build years ago. Best of both worlds! Lever looked stock for the car, but it shifted well with the Hurst.
