I'm 72 years old. Collected several Chargers during the 1980s when they were selling for average of $300. My latest project is a 1966 yellow full rotisserie restoration that is nearly done. Still need to cut and buff the paint on the passenger side, roof and trunk deck, and install remainder of the chrome. Interior also nearly done. I rescued it from a junk yard, nearly sent to the steel smelter. It was on the bottom of 3 cars piled up (two cars were on the roof). No engine, but rest was complete. Originally a 383 4 bbl, non AC. It's now restored to original, except engine from my Mom's 1967 Coronet 383 2 bbl. (Her car was way to rusted out to restore). Only other change, dual master cylinder, and disk brakes from a 1973 Duster. And added original factory air from my old parts pile. My first car was a 1966 purple metallic I bought at age 18, and still have.

Welcome Alec from another 66 fan.
I'll warn you now, pictures are almost mandatory here or you are subject to a virtual spanking machine.
Cool story.

Welcome from Alabama, Gen I Chargers are great Mopars too.

Thanks everyone. I'm not quite comfortable with posting pictures, but I'll see what I can do with a photo of the car. I'm currently sequestering for the last 2 months with Covid, so I'll be otherwise unoccupied, and will work on a photo.
