1966 Coronet Hemi question

Learning slowly the fun things related to owning a hemi. What I think is a good conversion tribute from a 6cyl (proper K-member, electronics, etc.). I noticed this in the garage this past weekend. The distance from the passenger shock tower to the valve cover is clearly less than the driver shock tower to the valve cover. Is this normal, or is something horribly wrong?

Not really. Mopar offset the engines roughly 1-1/2" to the passenger side

It's normal, if you ever need to remove the valve cover you will need to take the shock nut off and push the shock stem down so the cover can come off easier.

Do you have power brakes, if do valve cover can be removed by taking the throttle and spring brackets off. Remove 3 of spark plug tubes, 7 has to stay but it just flops around.

I can get mine off without doing that - no problem. I don't think your Coronet's is any closer than my Satellite's.

I was referring to the passenger side. No issues with mine.

As @beanhead said, Ma offset all the engines to the passenger side, not just hemi's.

Steering shaft/box, m/c, p/s pump, battery.... you need the extra real estate to clear these items.
