I've got a guy telling me has parts from a 440 out of a 1966 GTX, but near as I can tell the GTX didn't come out until 1967. I googled and found lots of references to 1966 GTXs, so was there such a thing as a 1966 GTX?

No, there was not a GTX in the `66 Belvedere line-up. You are correct. The 440 does not appear in my `66 shop manual as an 'option' either.

I have seen allot of 66's cloned to look like a GTX, but yea 67 was 1st year.

no '66 GTX....not in my neighborhood ....maybe elsewhere in the world, they used to do weird stuff back in the '60's!..........

nope. no 66. maybe a 66 belvedere cloned to a GTX...

Or...

an early 67 440 with a 1966 build date...

or a 1966 440 from a Chrysler. They got 440s (and 360s) one year before the rest.

The 440s were only available in a C or D body in the 66 model year and they were a lo pro 350 h.p.

The 1967 GTX was introduced in the fall of 1966.....

Bruzilla,
The seller is either, off by a year (happens honestly enough), or he 'linked it' to the GTX model name hoping to get more $$$ for it? :shruggy:

Stamped Part Numbers can verify what year the parts are from/ for. :reading:
