Does anyone know if a 1966 Satellite would have been offered with a two-tone paint job?

For example, would there have been a factory/dealer option to have the body come in a particular color and then have the hardtop either black or white or another option?

Also, does anyone have any links to factory colors for 1966 Coronets and Belvederes/Satellites? Links for other years are also welcome.

Thanks,

Yes, two tone was possible. Here's a link to the factory color and trim books on Hamtramck Historical

Great links!

Thanks a bunch.

One more question: Would the fender tag of the car indicate if the car originally came with a vinyl top?

I had a "White Hat Special" 67 Coronet that had a painted, non-vinyl, white roof.

Not sure if that program was around in 66, but could be.

Program included other "popular" options like auto trans and drip moldings, and a few others.

As far as body paint goes, I don't believe in 1966 Satellites came two-tone paint. In 1967, all Satellites were Aluma-plate clad the full length of the lower body, making them all two-tone paint.

But you're asking about tops, and the vinyl top was an option which only had a handful of color options and typically were a different color than the base paint. Aside from the vinyl top options, the roof-color was the same as the base paint of the car from the factory for both 1966 and 1967 I believe.
