i have a 67 gtx looking to put 15 inch rims and tires on can someone tell me whats the biggest rim and tire i can use
with out hitting the outter rear fender

I just bought a 67 GTX with 8 inch rear rims and 235 tires and they barely rubbed the wheelwells. Just barely scuffing the raised white letters. I replaced with 7 inch wheels and the same rear tires and have plenty of clearance.

In my case it was clearance past the fender lip to get a tire/wheel on the hub that was critical, not the clearance once the wheel was mounted. I have 215-70x15 tires on 15x7 Magnums. I have to let the axle hang as low as it will go to get this size tire/wheel on and it barely scrapes by the fender lip. I've seen people run much bigger tires somehow. I know my original center section is missing, possibly I have a C-body axle under my car.
