Who makes outer rear wheel houses, trunk extensions ( drop offs) for a 67 GTX? I found a few things from AMD, but not these. Also, I suppose some are made to fit better than others? Thanks in advance!

Well that sucks!!! I probably should have checked that out before I took the plunge! Thanks for the info!!!

Received a PM from a member who said 521 restorations in Denver and Shermans has a few parts available. I did talk with AMD last week and they said quarters for the 66-67 might be a future project?

Therer are two makers of partial quarters.

One is decent, one is terrible.

The terrible one is flat with no curve to the bottom where it gently rolls under.

4 doors don't rust nearly as bad (probably due to the different way the water drainage path is), and there is usually enough there to cover the rusted places on a 2 door, not to mention the outer wheelhouses are usually in good shape.

I'm hopeful AMD will stamp out something in the next few years, I'm going to go ahead and buy the front floor and pick up a solid pass door in the mean time.

I still say, go looking for 4 doors.

Sometimes they whole car can be picked up for under 1K.

My brother patched up his 66 with 4D panels.

I agree with you! If I run across a 4 door at a decent price I'll buy it and carve it up. Problem is, around here 67 Mopars are hard to find and are usually rough when I do find one.

On my GTX the quarters, wheelhouses and trunk extensions were toast so we used half quarters from jc whitney which are a lot of fun to install and we tubbed the wheelhouses and installed AMD floors, cowl and inner fenders 003.jpgTinker 005.jpg

I like the tubs, may be the way to go. How well did the AMD stuff fit? Thanks!

I have the car for sale on here, but there's been little interest in it. I plan on moving it to the farm in soon, once it's there and out of my way I won't even see it for years.

I haven't checked availability for the plymouth but the Sherman panels I used on my 67 Coronet weren't too bad. The passenger side fit nearly perfect as stamped. The drivers side was a bit more of a headache and took some creative cutting. But for $200 between the two of them I'd say bargain. I am also not building a show car but from the looks of it...neither are you (whether you meant to or not).

On the parts car idea...I have done that twice and utilized quite a few parts from a 4 door car including wheel houses, trunk extension and rear frame rails. Picked up the whole car for $650. Second one I paid $725 for but is WAY rustier and worthless in the body department.

Last time I checked their was a 67 belvedere on Craigslist here for sale as a parts car, but I don't know the rust condition. Also can't seem to find the ad right now but it was recent. (chicago craigslist)

I like the AMD parts a lot if they made quarters id cut these back off

I really don't see AMD making them. With every passing year their market for these drops as more cars fall victim to irreversible rust....so the longer they delay the less chance it will happen.
