I have a '67 Belvedere with a '58 392 Hemi under the hood. I was wondering what torsion bars I should be running to handle the extra weight of the Hemi over the original 383.
the heaviest bar is for the 440 and Hemi, #780 and 781 respectively, with that number found on the rear end of the bar. I believe the original was .092 diameter. You can purchase even heavier bars through several vendors. That 392 is one heavy sucker, more so than the 426 I believe.How did you deal with the oil pan? With the crank sitting below the block clearance must have been a bear!
I recently bought a pair of .960" bars to handle the weight of a completely Iron Max Wedge I'm building for my '63 Dodge. I believe the part # for the set is P5249158, but check on that #. I plan to street drive the car more than it will see the strip, so I wanted heavy bars to support it...
