1967 GTX Transmission

Quick question for the forum..... I bought my '67 GTX with a '68 383 in it. I am trying to determine if the trans was also swapped in at some time or is it the one that could have come in the car from the factory. Doing a little digging on the 2801540 shows that it was '67-'68 but "without high performance". I assume all the GTXs with 440s were the C440 HP and the trans should also be HP? Thanks, Eric

The GTX would have the 541 trans. The one shown is a 1968 transmission.

541 trans came in 67 dodge charger 440 and GTX. I have both 67 and 68 early and late . The 540 came in Chrysler non hp. Maybe others

The 2801540 was for the 67-68 440 engine non HP.Still a very good transmission.

Thanks guys. I think I am going to still use it behind my 440 unless I stumble onto the 541.
