Ok ... I am about to start attaching the restored K member to my hemi motor with the motor mounts installed on K member. My question is do I need to have any bushings pressed in the K member before I start the installation? I imagine this is old stuff to most all members here on B Bodies... I am new to Mopar so bear with me please.

I plan on installing all the restored parts including steering box, A frames upper and lower, etc. that pertain to the K member before it is raised into the engine bay I have been told. I think the lower shock mounts must have the shock absorbers installed too.

Can anyone give me any short cut tricks that could help me along?

Thank you in advance!! Mike

No bushings to press in the k member. I would install the mounts on the block then attach the k member to the mounts.

Yes ... I miss spoke ... the mounts are on the block now the insulators are on the K member now. I have only to raise the K member up to the motor mounts and install the two nuts one for each side.

I always put everything on the engine, mounted to the K frame with the transmission and transmission mount, but do no suspension, as in control arms, brakes, spindles hubs or discs. I find that easier for me to do later on the lift.

The motor is on the a cart and sits high enough to roll under the body when its time.

I believe I’d have the steering box and idlearm on also with ‘complete’ engine

Thanks for the good scoop....:) The big motor is bulky and is over 1000lbs + with trans attached...... would be harder to fit all of the suspension at once.
