I have an originality type question when it comes to a 67 R/T and tires.

The R/T I have shows 435 on the trim tag as the factory tire, 7.75x14 white wall. Ever ad I see from that era about the R/T implies Red Line tires, 485, were part of the package and standard.

Even if the tag shows white wall would the 67 R/T still come with red lines? Did this car have white walls on day one?

I have access to another 67 and it shows 485, red lines, on the tag. I have day one pictures of that car and it had red lines.

Thats what the car was coded for.....

Even though a different year my 69 GTX came standard with steelies and 14" goodyear speedways white stripe.....It is a 440 4spd trac pal car if that tells you anything......

My 69 charger RT came with the exact same tire/wheel combination as the GTX.....For that car I spoke to the original owner he wanted the standard option to save $$...When he got the car home he pitched them and put aluminum slots on the car....

Both cars above are always shown with magnums and redlines in ad's....

W/W were optional.

Here's a snippet from the data book that may help.

That's the part I was missing. I wouldn't view WSW as an 'upgrade' or a better option to red lines but I guess it may have been back then. Safe to assume that's what the car was born with. Thx.

Here's the ads and brochure I was referring to for reference. Last one I had found last night after I posted this. Concurs with WSW as option on R/T also.
