I have a 67 Charger with this wheel or what appears to be this wheel but mine is a brown plastic with a metal band insert it around the wheel portion, is this the same wheel? Im planning on selling the Charger and may use this as a selling point or pull it off and put another on before I post it for sale.

Looks like a Recall wheel from here. Your car won't fetch more because it's on there but they can sell for upwards of $1000 on the open market.

That wheel was never recalled according to my information. Someone, of course I don't remember who researched it several years ago. I do know of a few original Chargers that still have them.

They were apparently dangerous if you used your finger in the slot to turn the wheel. They have been called "Recall Wheels" forever regardless of whether they were recalled or not. 1967 specific woodgrain steering wheel. Let us dispel the myth and urban legend of the “recall wheel”

These "brown" steering wheels were originally a simulated wood-grained piece. Unfortunately this shallow effect wore down with continued usage, until the grain was lost. On the "recall" wheel; my 1967 Coronet sales brochure, shows this wheel with a horn bar in the open slot. By production time, the horn bars were eliminated, leaving the open slot. I feel there must have been some kind of an informal recall, possibly only at the dealer level, since these wheels are not commonly seen. I also think that the car owners who surrendered their wheels, received the solid spoke wood-grained wheel that was introduced on 1966 Chargers. That is what my 1967 R/T has, and I have seen other 1967 Coronets and Belvederes with this wheel. I have seen more "recall" wheels still on Belvederes than on Coronets. These wheels also had a special shallower horn button/centre cap than the 1966 wheel.
