I am currently trying to remove the dash from my 1967 Plymouth satellite and I'm having a hard time. I removed all 5 screws and the heat/ac control. The dash pulls forward about 2" and than hangs up. Any good points an how to remove the dash? Is there a video somewhere out there to help? Many thanks in advance.

Windshield out?

windshield is not out

Maybe I am going about this removal wrong. All I am trying to do is repaint the silver trim along the front. I thought removing the dash would be easier. Any suggestions?

Silver trim on the front of what?

Chrome on bottom (if equipped) is metal and paint will likely not stick.
Can be removed from underneath. Might be steel wool shined or replaced- can be had nice on ebay.

Chrome on instrument panel and glove box is chrome plated plastic.
Expensive to replace or have rechromed.
Might be acceptable to you to use a modeler's paint pen, without removing anything.

I tried the paint pen. Even had a painter with a steady hand try to it but can't get straight lines. Not looking to chrome plate the plastic

The cluster should come out a whole heck of a lot easier than the dash.

Had some chrome plastic pieces for my 68 RR spray chromed by this guy, coatofchrome.com (Don Pirre) in Wind Gap PA. Did a great job and looks great plus pretty quick turn around. Not real cheap but less than traditional chrome plating.

Make sure your speedo cable is disconnected. You should then be able to get it out farther and then will need to disconnect the wiring.

It's also easier if you disconnect the headlight and wiper switch.

Removing gauge cluster from 67 satellite without removing dash frame can be done but it is a rather difficult job. Be sure to disconnect battery from car before attempting. Ammeter leads have to be unbolted from rear of gauge, speedometer cable unscrewed, and both wire harnesses pin connectors removed from back of gauge area circuit boards.
Be very careful to pull straight out or you will break these weak pins.

Climate control plate has to be removed and cable controls pushed through gauge cluster opening. Headlight and wiper harness connectors have to be disconnected. If column shift lever must be lowered. Remove screws in gauge bezel. You then can remove gauge cluster by grabbing top and bottom of bezel and rocking it as you slide it forward. You might have to gently push up on bottom of cluster to clear lower dash frame gauge opening lip. You might want to wrap column with garbage bag to avoid scratching paint. If you let column hang to give you more room by unbolting it make sure you put back column shims if so equipped and thenre-install and re-adjust column as per factory service manual or the better technical service bulletin or film.
