1968/1969 Plymouth Dash Center A/C Registers

There seems to be 2 different possibilities when it comes to the lower dash pad / center A/C register for non-AC Plymouths:

Condition 1: No Opening at all
Condition 2: Opening with delete plate / blank off plate

My non-AC 1968 GTX is condition 2, and my non-AC 1969 RR is condition 1. If I go to replace my lower dash pad in the GTX is it OK to use a pad with no opening, or would that be taboo? Does anyone reproduce the blank-off plate?

I wouldn't use the wrong pad if it were me. Nice '68/'69 non ac pads are readily available. If you don't need the '69 non a/c pad, sell it and buy a nice a/c pad. Because you know there will be a "I know every thing" guy at every show you go to that has to bring it to your attention that you have the wrong dash pad on your car.
