Block has been tanked and magged good. Flash rust from sitting. Still standard bore 4.30 and I cannot feel a ridge. Asking 1000.00 and can ship. Located in Canby,Or. I do have the crank, 906 heads, water pump housing available as well.

I have a 440 and it is also stamped D 440 HP however no number 2 after HP. What is/are the difference(s) between the two blocks and does the D stamping mean this block came out of a 1968 or 1969 Mopar?

D=1968, the 2 means second shift.

Sorry but didn't notice the 1968 at the initial part of the add.

D440 is 68. E440 is 69. HP is the 375 horse engine. The 2 just means that the second shift assembled it. Edit: And I just saw that the question got answered while my slow fingers were typing.

2 usually means 2nd shift I believe.

Would the HP also mean the block is a 440 6 Pack 390 horse engine? On a side note is there any particular place/option on this site to list for an item wanted or for sale as I just posted a thread looking for a textured A.M. radio bezel for my 69 Bee with sport dash and not sure if I posted it in the wrong spot thus minimizing exposure.

I don't think the 6 pack engines were stamped differently on that pad, but I really don't know.
