Looking to buy repop window seal felts. Has anyone experience these (see pic) from Detroit Muscle Technologies?

Quality?

Thanks

The add says they are top cat brand, which are considered the top brand for window felts. DMT is known to sell quality products. So they should be fine. Although I have not bought those exact window felts, I have bought other window felts from DMT and never had problem.

They aren’t bad. The clips didn’t match up as well as I had hoped but with some modifications they went in. They definitely make a difference, windows were loose and now they are very tight when rolling up/down. The rear window whiskers were a hassle on one side (they didn’t clip/snap in they had staple like attachments).

Also states OR EQUIVALENT, which I wouldn't want...

The Top Catwhiskers line of window felts falls under the manufacturing side of Quirey Quality Design and Restoration Parts and Materials. We have been supplying the industry these window felts for over 30 years now.

Our felts will be closest that you will find to the OEM felts for fit and correctness to appearance.

For the 68 to 70 Charger owners, some of you do not wish to change the inner felts. We can provide you just the four piece outer felts if that fits your needs better.

There is a large assortment of vendors carrying the Top Catwhiskers. Choose your preferred supplier, but just make sure that they are the Top Catwhiskers, there are other manufacturers out there.

It seems to me that many-many years ago I got whiskers, about 1991. Rear quarter windows worked well for 67 Chargers.
Fast forward to 2018 and now. The whiskers don’t seem to match up as well. Any little friction from the glass on the door whiskers at the back, the whiskers want to pull away.
Have a set in right now that I am trying to work with. The ones from 1991 are working flawlessly. Second thought, maybe they weren’t Cat Whiskers. Should look when I feel the inclination to check.
I have jury rigged the whiskers to hopefully work.
I really appreciate your advice and comments.

Up until 2020 and the Covid issues, we were still able to purchase some of the "belting" material from the original vendor that was supplying the Chrysler vendor with this material for the window felts. After Covid and the manufacturer analyzing the books, they determined that the tooling was approaching 70 years old and that they no longer wish to supply that piece to the industry. Thus we have had to go out and source alternative suppliers and have the material made for us.

@440 4 speed, take a look at your felts, sometimes, the tape strip that is impregnated with the "whiskers" will start to pull away from the backing strip and this may increase the tension on the glass as you roll it up and down.

We did have a problem with too large of a bulb size on the '67 to '72 A-Body felts back in like 2016, but that was corrected after the customers and vendors informed us of the issue.

Good luck,
Richard

Yes that is the problem. If you have a suggestion on what adhesive to use, I would appreciate it.
Thank you.
