Does anyone know roughly what a shop would charger to replace the complete under the Dash Wiring Harness on a restored '68 R/T. I want to put a new harness in; but I don't want anything to get scratched.

It was hard enough putting in the original hooking up the gauges, etc. when the car left the body shop. Any help with how many hours and how much labor might be would be helpful. Thanks

You figure labor alone going to cost around 55 - 75 an hour. depending on the shop and experience level, your looking at a 4 - 8 hour job taking out the old and running new one.

Not a fun job, and jobs that aren't fun cost the most.

Easiest or less fustrating way it to just remove the whole dash, run the new harness and reinstall the dash. Look a lot neater because you can see how the old harness was run, and not worry about trying to get your claws caught up in the heater box cables and duct work.

Yep, I make a pretty good buck on "Restored" cars with 40+ year old original harnesses.

Thanks Guys

I knew it wasn't going to be cheap and with a restored car; there can't be any mistakes. I wish I had access to new gauges and a wiring harness when the car was done back in 2005/06. Thanks again for your help; someone had told me to budget roughly a $1,000 in labor.
