I am helping my non internet savvy friend sell his 1968 R/T Charger, as well as, 3 other cars being listed shortly. The car has a silver exterior with a red R/T strip painted on (not a decal)cand red interior, it resides in Syracuse, NY, and is 99.9% restored with only needing the radio and glove box installed both of which he has (yes I know I asked why he just doesn’t finish it too) and if it is a sticking point he will install them for you.

It has a 440 motor with 15k invested it into lighten it up (aluminum heads, intake, and water pump), 6 pak internals, carter carb (not six pak), and electronic ignition.

A833 4 speed OD transmission, 8 ¾ posi rear with 323 gears, rallye dash with tic toc tac, was an a/c and have most of the components if you wish to make it an a/c car again.

Absolutely no rust! The entire car was restored back in 2005 with every nut and bolt done. The R/T has been driven 100 miles since the rest of the time it has been garage sitting on plastic under a car cover.

He is looking for 46,000.00 or best offer for this car. Serious inquiries only please! I have 2 videos of the car available upon request and can supply multiple pictures!

You may want to disclose in your ad that this was originally an auto trans car. This is evident by knowledgable Mopar people because it has A/C which was not available in an R/T Charger with a 4 speed and also if it were an original 4 speed car it would have come from the factory with a 9 3/4" Dana.

You refer to the car as 99% "restored" which is really not the correct term for a modified car like this especially with an overdrive trans, it is really more of a "resto-mod."

BTW, is the overdrive trans one of the old Mopar aluminum case ones or the new Passon Performance H.D. overdrive units? It will make a big difference to anyone interested in the car.

How about some pics of this 46,00.00 ( Resto mod) I've been building custom cars and trucks for years and it would have to be a matching numbers and almost perfect car for that kinda money so I'd like to see a pic or to

Glad you asked 696 it is an original transmission.

As for all the seemed hating in this sale post please remember you do not have to buy it nor do you have to come off hostile.

Thanks for your time!

I don't see anyone hating or coming off hostile, However as I stated in your other vehicle for sale post, negative comments about pricing are not allowed in the cars for sale ads. The for sale ads are not supposed to be a discussion forum and those types of comments should be resrved for a "what is it worth" post. If others want to comment on their opinions of value of a car listed for sale here they need to take the initative to post a WIW thread if they feel necessary to make such comments.

I have rambled on enough in this ad and only want the seller to understand what potential buyers want to see or know about a car for sale.

Good luck on your sale.

So you know, that will hurt the value of the car. Those original transmissions were designed for economy and do not hold up under 440 power and have a terrible gear spread for high performance driving. Too bad it is not the new Passon Performance 833 OD which would enhance it's value in a resto mod.

so it is okay to deceive?

I don't think he was trying to say the trans was original to the car, which is beautiful btw, but that it is an original Chrysler o.d. unit.

I came close to reaching agreement on this splendid vehicle last year but decided it was too expensive for me and I retreated to a more obtainable but all original 66 Dart GT HiPo. I had a friend of a friend inspect this charger for me and turned out he knew the seller. At first I believed it to be #'s matching but yes its a 4 spd conversion and the fender tag I was shown is a repop and I am unsure of documentation for the vehicle. Then the discussion centred around the possibility of this being an original A1 / red interior car. I still dont know, but pics from the restoration certainly made me believe so. For what it's worth, the pictures I recieved and confirmation from the guy who went to see the car for me left no doubt that the work done on the car is top notch. So in my mind its a probable A1 silver with red interior charger and possibly a real R/T. Seller told me he got car from a guy in the middle of a divorce and car was in a "mess" with parts all in various forms of dissasembly and also lost documentation in the divorce-mayhem or so was my impression. Supposedly in another garage of sellers friends there exists a #match 440 in unknown state. Resto-Mod 68 Charger sounds right to me, I'd salivate finding a real A1 silver / Red interior 68 R/T one day ;).
Make no mistake, this car is a gem. Body is mint as is paint, aligment is beyond what I imagine assembly lines could achieve. At present I'm looking into an all original steel (no rust) intact interior(looks like leather to me) w/head rest disc brake power window 68 Charger 383 HP at perhaps 28k. Needing very little to be #2 if I understand the sellers information correctly. Good Luck on the sale !
