1968 Satellite with an A904: 18 spline or 27 spline?

Hello all:

The title pretty much asks my question, but let me clarify: I'm planning Magnum swap on my '68 Satellite soon, and I have an opportunity to get a stock-spec A904 torque converter for $40 shipped to my door.

Pretty good deal, in my book, but I would prefer to be sure of the spline pattern on my transmission - and I'm concerned whether there is a possibility that my 1968-model-year Satellite might just have an A904 left over from '67 in it (and if so, whether there is a possibility I may wind up finding the coarser 18 spline TC in it).

I'd rather know this in advance if I can. $40 saved is $40 that can go to something else on the project, and not wind up as yet another boxed doorstop around the house waiting to get bought on eBay.

Any and all help appreciated.

-Kurt

I thought the early TC splines were 19? Anyway, from what I know 68 should be well past the old 19 (or 18) spline stuff.
