Currently rebuilding a 69 Charger and want to drop the correct 440 in it. I was told that the production perion for the B bodies was from August to August. I found a 440 block with a date code of 10-28-69. 25364306 does this mean that engine is incorrect for a 69 since the engine as built after august?

Any help would be appreciated

You are correct

This would be the right engine for a 1970 from what I have read. best wishes:confused2:

It's only original once but if you want to be date code correct, the engine needs to have a casting date 2 to 6 weeks (I think) before the build date of the car. Build date will be on the fender tag and the build sheet and if you have niether of those with the car there will be one stamped on the front of the engine K-member right in the center facing forward. Additionally you are looking for a block with an E 440 stamped on the top of the machined engine pad at the front of the block.

Is this a duplicate post? Seems I replied to it somewhere else.
The above replies is how I understand it.
