1969 Charger Windshield help

What adhesives, sealants and goops do you use and where for the windshield?

Looks like the seal sits on the cowl embedded in some kind of stuff, but I don’t know what. Is it trim adhesive? Window urethane or bedding and glazing compound?

Also are you guys installing the gasket on the glass first and pulling a string over the lip?

use 3m bedding/glazing compound. clean the gasket very well to remove the oils left behind by the molding process.

Next put a small bead of bedding compound in the bottom groove and up the sides about 4 inches where the gasket meets the body.

Install the gasket on the pinch weld. Clean the windshield thoroughly and set the bottom edge into the groove in the gasket and use plenty of soapy water and plastic tools to work the glass in the gasket all the way around.
While you are working your way around make sure to keep the glass fully seated in the lower groove. Once its in dry the gasket and glass and get under the gasket lip to dry as well.
Once dry with the tip of the caulking gun apply bedding compound between the gasket lip and glass and then zip the gasket lock and clean up the excess
compound.
Oh and one other thing make sure to use an ample amount of compound in the lower corners of the gasket to body area this is where they are prone to leak.
