Hi all just checking to see what color for brake drum should be.Thanks KB9GIB.

With both steel wheels and road wheels the drums were left natural ie. rust.

Except with the road wheels (Magnums) the face of the drum was painted, crudely, with a brush I may add, a reddish orange color.

Hi thanks for your info.KB9GIB

lots of pics on our original dated drums from our 69 GTX vert here. Our car had the road wheels so it got the faces of the drums painted. Someone must not have liked them red over the years and painted gray over the top of the red. You can also see the red left on the hub as well as a green inspection mark that was on before the red was brushed on nice and sloppy.

Thanks for the info on the drums. Your car looks nice.KB9GIB

Thanks. A lot of hard work went into it trying to make it look exactly as it did from the factory. Although, I will admit it is a lot easier when you have an original, unrestored car like we did to go off of!
