I plan to list this car on eBay in the near future but hoping I might be able to work out a deal with a forum member first.
1969 Plymouth Roadrunner Project
383 – 4 Speed – Post Car
Originally R6 – “Scorch Red" with Black Bench Seat Interior
RM21H9Axxxxxx – Matching VIN & Fender Tag
This is a fairly complete project car that was disassembled for restoration 25 plus years ago and then has mostly sat in storage. It was a complete running and driving car that I personally drove in the early to mid- 1990’s. It is currently a solid rolling chassis and will require a complete restoration with a fair bit of metal work. The car has been partially reassembled for the sake of transport, it rolls and steers but the brakes are not currently in working order. I have bought and sold several muscle cars from long distances so I will do my best to describe the condition accurately and completely. I will provide additional photos upon request for serious potential buyers.
Engine:
Correct “E” Code 383 HP block
Correct RM219A Roadrunner VIN stamp with non-matching serial number
Standard bore block with crank and main caps
Rods and pistons come with the car but are not currently in the block
Correct 906-cylinder heads, 402 oil pan etc.
Transmission & Rear End:
The original 4 speed parts were all gone when I purchased the car in the 1990’s - it was running and driving with a 727 console shift automatic in it
The car will come with a 727 transmission core
A new 4-speed hump comes with the car but is not welded in so you can go either direction with the car
8 ¾ rear – 742 case – comes with open carrier gear set not currently installed
Body & Chassis:
Six Pack fiberglass hood
Fenders were removed, stripped, and primed a number of years ago
Drivers side front frame rail is patched
Doors are fairly solid but will require metal work
Drivers side rocker requires replacement
Front floorboards have been replaced with originals from another car
Rear floorboards are original and solid
Both quarter panel skins require replacement
Extremely solid decklid with no rot in the lip or corners
Trunk floor and extensions will require replacement
Both rear frame rails are solid up to the last few inches towards the rear (a few holes - not completely crusty and weak – definitely supports the weight of the car on jack stands)
All wiring harnesses were removed and are included in the sale
Interior:
Front bench seat is the only major component missing from the interior (had race buckets in the 90’s)
Rear seat is included
Headliner bows, door sill plates, rear view mirror, heater box, dash pads, glove box door, ashtray, kick panels, and a number of plastic and soft trim parts are included
Glass:
All glass is intact and in decent driver quality condition
Side windows roll up and down
Trim:
Windshield stainless surround included and in nice shape
Rear window stainless surround included and in nice shape
Side view mirror included
Taillights, parking lights, side markers are all included
Front and rear bumper cores are included
Wheels\Tires:
Currently rolling on a set of Magnum 500 Wheels and very old non-road worthy bias ply tires
Clean and current (2021) New York State transferable registration in my name!
Note that NY does not issue titles for vehicles older than 1973 – ownership is signed over through the Registration. Car is being sold “as is” with the understanding it is a rolling project and not a running and driving vehicle. Due to non-working brakes pickup will require an electric winch to load safely. I am happy to work with any legitimate shipping company or help load it on your trailer.
$8,500 or best reasonable offer
