This car is located in the northern suburbs of Philadelphia PA. I bought this car from the original owners in September 1976 with approximately 57,000 miles on it. As soon as I could, started the typical mods of the day for drag racing and street performance; changed intake, carb, and pulled the (2.76?) open end rear and installed a 489 sure grip with 4.56 Richmond gears. Didn't swap out the speedometer gear, so not sure of the actual mileage prior to rebuilding engine, but I estimate there are less than 2500 miles on the engine since rebuilding. This was my every day ride until I took it off the road in 1979-1981 to pull motor, and have it repainted in original color Y2 Sunfire Yellow. Motor was fine prior to rebuild with the exception of the typical valve seal blue smoke when punching it. Rebuild consisted of cam change (Cam Dynamics), TRW 10.25:1 forged aluminum pistons, new timing chain, and Isky forged steel rocker arms with 4140 adjustable push rods. Heads had the typical 3 angle valve job, block was bored .030" over and magna fluxed. Swapped out the original radiator for a 26" radiator with shroud from a 318 A/C Dodge Coronet for taxi service. The car has been garage kept, and has never seen rain since taking it off the road in 1979. In 2017 I had the motor pulled again to repaint the engine compartment, refreshed motor with new timing chain, valve job, TTI headers, and put new 15" wheels and tires on it. Original bumpers were rechromed in 2015, original tail panel and tail light bezels were restored as well by Pauls Chrome through Totally Mopar. The black vinyl top, dash, door panels, carpet, and glass are all original, in not perfect, but very good condition. There is minor scuffing on the dash pad where the digital clock is installed that was done when drilling out the back metal plate to fit the clock in-this was done in 1977 and was a "cool" thing back then and it is still there, and still works, as does the original AM radio. The seats were redone in 1979 and in very good condition as well. Headliner was replaced in 2021. The paint is beginning to alligator crack in spots, but still looks very nice. This car was never in an accident but the front passenger side fender was backed into in 1977 causing a small dent that was repaired before the car was repainted in '79. It will pop in and back out if you are leaning against it in certain situations, but the car is straight and original as far as body parts go. I have all of the documentation for the work done on this car since I bought it, as well as the original owners manual and warranty booklet, factory service manual, and the broadcast sheet which I had mounted in a hermetically sealed frame. I have some of the original parts; including pistons, cam shaft, distributor, hub caps, plus extra trim parts I bought just in case I needed including a GTX tail panel and tail light bezels that need refinishing, and perhaps some other trim parts that I can't recall now. Also a newer (used twice) Holley 850XP carb, a 780 rebuild carb, and other miscellaneous items if interested. The sale will include (4) ETA MyLift Stands if wanted. I should note that the 727 trans has a Cheetah reverse manual valve body, and a new street/strip torque converter from Frank Lupo Dynamic Converters installed last year along with a new Yukon 3.91 rear carrier unit, and correct speedo gear. The previous 489 Case with the 4.56 gears will be included as well. I am trying to be as transparent as possible here, and will gladly address any questions presented. I am putting this up for sale only because I am not getting to enjoy the car as I used to, and getting ready to downsize and potentially relocate to another home that will not have the garage space needed. This is a special car to me, as it's the first car I ever bought and I would like it to go to someone who will appreciate it for what it is. Asking $52,000 firm. Serious inquiries only please.
