1969 satellite temp gauge differences?

I notice some of the temp gauges have hash marks that are symmetrical, like a gas gauge would have. Mine (original) is not, with the center hash marks closer to the hot side of the scale. The aftermarket ones appear to be symmetrical too. Is there a difference in these besides cosmetic? Why would they be different? Mine was a 318 car, so perhaps the big blocks had the different, symmetric style? The photo attached is like mine. The aftermarket ones, like Year One, look different.

I don’t think so as I’ve seen 68 with the same as mine. But possibly.

I'm saying its a possibility. They did this with the 150 speedos - some got the '68 "150" and later models got the "15". It may even have had to do with which plant the car rolled out of.

Different suppliers, early, late, lots of possibilites. Chrysler didn't care if all the temp. gauges matched each other.

My guess is, just different cosmetic designs. Maybe the cars with better trim packages got the one over the other. A 318 or big block doesn’t know the difference. They’ll work like they should regardless of which gauge, motor or car you have.
