So, here it is. I have the location photo/specs/measurements but, when I lay this out on the deck lid, the post at the head of the Bee ends up aligning right in the mounting position of the rubber bumper of the deck lid. I find it physically impossible to get the self tapper on...but maybe i'm overlooking something? Any Bee owners have pics of the inside of their deck lids they're willing to share? Any more insight?

Thank you in advance everyone!

Thank you very much. I certainly don't want to start drilling until I have some sort of confirmation.

I clicked off a couple pics for ya. IMG-20140612-00257.jpgIMG-20140612-00258.jpgIMG-20140612-00259.jpgIMG-20140612-00260.jpgIMG-20140612-00261.jpgIMG-20140612-00262.jpg

Is that the factory location, chargin'? Because I've seen more than one located there.
Here's the dimensions pic I have:

this puts the post at the head of the emblem right inside the rubber bumper mount of the deck lid. Not an easy spot to get fingers or tools to attach the post nut.

I just did a quick search, and I think I'm incorrect? I believe it's the original trunk lid for my car,I'll have to look for other holes? Sorry for the incorrect info, and I guess I need the same information your looking for.

No way those dimensions shown by Chargin' are the stock location. Too close to the edge and the nose of the Bee is tilted down too much.

All I can tell you is the dimensions I gave you came from my Super Bee's deck lid that I have owned since 1973 and I still own it to this day. I also am pretty sure of its history prior to 1973 since I bought it from my Cousin. To the best of my knowledge, those dimensions are correct and from the factory. However, I was not at the factory when they were drilled.

The car has been restored and here is what it looks like now.

Any chance you could show us the inside of the deck lid? This is what I am having a hard time with.
Thanks in advance, Mopars and Missiles.

P.S.

Car looks awesome from the little I can see!

I don't have any pics of that area with me here on my computer. I'm working this week in California and won't be back home until next week to get a shot of the underside for you. I'll try to remember to do it when I get home.

Thanks for the compliment on the car, I appreciate it.

Bee placement

Don't know if these shots will help.the post on the head of the bee is almost perfectly in line with the hole for the rubber bumper.the post looks like it has a black plastic piece that is holding the post on

Thanks Bee383. I was thinking of using a push on clip rather than the self tapping nut sent with the emblem.
Would certainly make it easier to get on! I may even be able to push on the self tapper then give it a bit of a twist at the end?
