The lower BJ is a bolt on piece to the spindle that includes the steering arm but you will need a tie rod puller and similar puller to pop the ball joint from the LCA. OTC has a nice front end service kit, see here: http://www.amazon.com/OTC-6295-Fron...7O/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1337788291&sr=8-16
The upper BJ requires a special square socket to unscrew it from the UCA. If you remove the upper bump stop and jack the car up to allow the suspension to drop, that may give enough room to unload the torsion bar for safe removal of the components.
