I have '70 charger shell with no vin or fender tag, looking for some thoughts on what it might of came with or was?

has factory dual exhaust hangers, front sway bar and .92 torsion bars.

odd part 8 1/4" rear end 5 leaf springs, 10" drum brakes all the way around, had dual exhaust when we got it 10+ yrs ago.

car was green with green interior? only had steering column in it.

I'm guessing someone changed out the rear end with a different one.

thanks for any help

What exactly do you want to know about it? Seems to me as if you've figured out a decent amount. Odds are it was just a run of the mill charger. Could have been an RT, nothing you've stated makes it unlikely, but then again, nothing stated makes it pop out as one. I had a plain jane 70 charger (only came with a 383 and ac) and it had dual exhaust.

If the leaf springs are factory Chrysler, then the car could have been ordered on a heavy duty suspension package. RT cars had that, but non RT cars did as well.
Your vin should look something like X#29#0#, where the first # is likely an H for high price class (regular charger), or S for Special, which would be RT. The second # tells you the motor, F for 318, L for 383, C for the 225CI slant 6 leaning tower of power. The third one will be the build location. Could be Lynch Road Michigan (A), Hamtramck Michigan (B), Jefferson Michigan(C), belvedere Illinois (D), Los Angeles CA (E), Newark Delaware (F), St. Louis MO (G) New Stanton PA (H) or Windsor Ontario in Canada (R). After that will be a sequence of numbers which should be visibly stamped into the radiator support on the driver side, and on the trunk gutter lip under the weather strip. (As an example, my charger was XH29L0G583944) Try any number of those combinations and plug them into the lost and found section of this site. You may get lucky and find your buildsheet there.

10"drums all around, not an R/T. I would not think anybody would change out front disc for 10" front drums, but then again.
70' R/T's came with B11 Heavy Duty Drums 11" standard on all four corners plus other options.
All 70' Chargers built came off of St. Louis, Missouri Assembly line (G).
As mentioned above by G-1308 you'll know nothing much with out your broadcast sheet.
Check here for 70' Charger information also. http://1970chargerregistry.com/contact.html

I'm guessing someone at some point rebodied the charger. Cause even the upper core support is missing an was a gutted shell when I got it.

Only number I have us G0 454681 which came out of the trunk jamb

My 1970 Charger 500 came with a 318 and am 8 1/4" axle. They started using the 8 1/4" in mid 1969 in the 318 cars. Not all got that axle, but several did.

Just a shell with no VIN; I hope that this just going to be a parts car. The 10" brakes & 8 1/4" rear end prove the car was nothing special. You may not want to hear it, but any attempt to resurrect this car is foolish and will be financial suicide.

If we only built cars that made sense, we'd rarely build cars.
I see these cars as more than just a hobby, they are a form of stress therapy. They are a way to express your creativity. I like taking a non running piece of crap car and making it a running piece of crap. I like cleaning parts, welding, body and paint.
Some of the cars that I have built to sell are not very profitable if I counted my labor hours. So what? I enjoyed the ride anyway.

i see you are listing some items from this car for sale. If you are parting it, let me know. I need some stuff you may have.

Thanks
