I have a 70 Charger that was originally triple green. I am doing an overall restoration, but converting it to deep burnt orange with black vinyl top and charcoal interior. We are now in the stages of doing the interior and (other than the door panels and seats) having a difficult time determining which components should be charcoal in color as opposed to black. My sense is that the lower dash panels should be charcoal, as well as the console body, but am not sure. Can anyone provide guidance on which components should be charcoal and which should be black? Thank you for any help you can provide!

Pretty sure the charcoal was only on the inserts of the seat covers.

I'm sure I'll get corrected though, if that's not the case.

I'm not familiar with the 70's, but lower and upper dash pads always matched in 68 & 69's. I think YY1 has it right. Oh - ya better post up some pics. of that project. Sounds like the exact exterior color combo that I almost went with on my 69. Mine was born triple green also.

I agree with YY1, that's the way it is in my 70 GTX. The interior code is P6XA and everything is black except the seat inserts, they are charcoal, it also has silver piping on door panels and seats.

Here is some info for you http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/dealerships/1970ColorAndTrim-02.shtml

Look around this site and you should find what you need.

The seats, seat backs, upper door pads and door panels. Carpet, console, dashpad, kickpanels, and trim, all black.

Thanks! Just to be sure I am reading what you said correctly... Are you saying that the seats, seat backs, upper door pads and door panels are charcoal? and the rest of the items mentioned are all black? That is what I was thinking would be the case... I very much appreciate your advice. Regards, Pat

To the best of my knowledge that is correct.
