Hi all, I bought this car yesterday and the poor thing is dragging her bottom.

I'm considering ordering a new set of spring leaf from ROCKAUTO, and it offers me 2 options, as picture:

Question is, what's the difference?

- Why the top one (DAYTON 78539) states EXCEPT 440? (I might put a 440 in the future)

- And the bottom one (DAYTON 33907) has an extra lift, is that right?

I just need to get this right since It's not an easy task to return stuff, are both "right" for me? I don't mind an extra lift at the rear, quite like it to be honest.

The reason why I'm (probably) going with ROCKAUTO is they deliver to the UK at an "ok" postage but happy to check prices/options from difference places you might suggest.

Thank you!

I'd suggest ESPO. You'll have three options:

1) The 5-leaf springs (actually a 4 1/2) are $280/pair. (Standard on small blocks).

2) The 6/7 are $320/pair (standard on 440/Hemi, last leaf on left is half leaf and last two leaves on right are half leaves).

3) The 6-leaf HD are $310/pair (heavy duty for all cars, 6 full leaves).

* All three options are matched arch pairs and include the front bushings pressed in.

Add $30 for a 1" lift on any of these.

Thank you!!!
So that's the difference.
Now to think WHEN and IF I'll change it to a 440 but i guess there's no harm in going with the 6 leaf already.
Buy the better once and you won’t be buying again if you upgrade. May not need but it’ll be there if you upgrade and save money in the long run not to mention shipping

Thank you!!!

The rear of the car might set a little higher and/or it might be slightly bumpier in back……but yes. I would suggest the 6/7 leaf design that a 440/Henis car would have had stock….or maybe “super stock” springs if you plan to race the car

I had springs made by a spring shop for the Charger. 6 and 7 leaves, have been very happy. I had ordered Direct Connection springs from the dealer. Put them on the car and it dropped about 2 inches. I talked to the dealer. Found out that if there is a letter P in front of the part number, no warranty. Springs were made in Mexico. Dealer reimbursed my money and told me to do whatever with the springs. That is why I had springs made. January 19 1980. We took a trip to my home town. Went to the dealer and bought a new 79 Plymouth Fury Sport 2 dr. It was Saturday morning. We said we will take it if you add a leaf and take the Michelin’s off our 72 Polara and put them on. Picked the car up later that afternoon. Sold the Polara to a co worker with brand new tires he was happy.
