Hello, do I have this correct? If you had a manual drivers door mirror on a 70 coronet. You didn't get a passenger side mirror? Thanks in advance?

So you can have a manual mirror on the drivers door and still have a passenger door mirror if ordered that way?

Correct. I owned a 70 Coronet R/T one of one car and it only had a drivers side mirror that was a manual mirror and no passenger side mirror. I was going to put just a basic mirror on it.

The extra mirror was an option in 70 back and that gets me to thinking was 71 the year that you got two mirrors?

Congrats on the 70 Coronet great cars I miss mine and wish I could have finished it and is a very hard car to find parts like grills and fenders.

Ok so would a passenger mirror be on the fender tag if ordered? Or do I need to find a broadcast sheet to see what this car had from the factory? Thanks again.

My 73 has only a small manual driver's side mirror, so pass side was still optional at that time.

There were also different styles of mirrors, both manual and remote.

Most "hot rod" type cars show a tag code for "rallye" or "dual racing" mirrors if they had them.

My Lynch Road 72 even has the code.

See if you can find an options code list, or run your tag through a few decoders.

Thanks guys, looks like just a drivers side manual mirror. As I only have the G31 code on the fender tag. Thanks again. Oh yeah, anyone have a 70 drivers side manual mirror in excellent shape for sale?

Well it's still a mystery. I checked the fender tag again and there are no codes for any mirror options. I thought it had a g31 but it doesn't. I know for sure it could of only had a manual on the drivers size. But no idea if it had a passenger side mirror yet.

Does it make sense to pop off the passenger side interior door panel and have a look for mounting holes on the sheetmetal? I dont know if all doors from the factory had the mounting holes, but if they're not there i'd guess the car never had em. If they're bondo'd over maybe the car had one. Assuming its an original door of course.

Right now it has after market manual mirrors on both sides. I'll just have to see if the holes on the passenger side look factory or added. Thanks

If there are NO codes on the fender tag it means it came with the standard driver mirror only.
But really who cares, have you driven a car lately with just one mirror??

It is the first thing I add for safety sake.

Yeah, thats what i did - my drivers side holes appear cleaner and better aligned. I guess they were stamped? Also, my drivers side has the larger hole between the mounting holes for the remote adjustable mirror i suppose. The passenger side holes are rougher and lack that larger center hole so i'm thinking my car never came w the passenger mirror. I also wonder if all doors were stamped w the hole for the remote adjuster even if the car was ordered w standard mirrors.

My 73 had the remote cable hole in the door skin, but only the base manual mirror.

As much as I wanted to keep the car original and not drill or cut anything, I couldn't stand that quarter sized mirror and none on the PS, so now it has OEM dual rallye mirrors.

Thanks guys. For some weird reason I like the drivers side mirror only. I was hoping thats how it was from the factory. Thanks again
