hi, i bought a 70 coronet r/t that had new quarters put on, and i am trying to figure out where to drill the holes to install the side scoops. how far back from the door jam are the first holes? how high up from the bottom of the quarter? how much should the scoops cover the quarter panel indentation if at all? etc...if any one could help me i would greatly appreciate it.

I don't know the hole locations, you will have to referance them off of the scoops
My scoops are located 5 1/2" from the front of the quarter panel
The top of the scoops I measured from the first top crease below the window
The front of the scoop is 3" down from this crease and I measured back along the scoop 10" and the scoop is 4" down from that crease at this point.
There is also two creases in the panel that the scoops would center in
I hope I explaned the location of the scoops so you could understand
If you have questions post them here and I'll try to answer them

There are two creases in my panel that corraspond with the width of the scoops
I've never had the scoops off, but I believe these creases allow for a flatter spot to install the scoops
They are not very noticeable
The only other thing I can think of is that they may have been created when the scoops were tighten'd down
Now you have me wondering.
I'll do a little more research

I have found a picture of what I'm trying to explane
Google
type in- 70 coronet rear quarter body panel
go to- Coronet Quarter sales and prices at The Find
curser down to- 70 coronet 32H X 88L Skin
The picture shows the small creases
I hope this helps

are you talking about the C- shaped indentation that is formed into the panel? and were your scoops installed at the factory? i have looked at a lot of pics of the scoops installed and it looks like most of them are installed so that most of the C- shaped indentation is seen, but at the 5 1/2 inches you said it would cover up most of the indentation.....

I see what you mean.
No, my scoops were not installed at the factory. The rear quarters were replaced.
So the possability of them being installed incorrectly exists
Since we stated this quest, I have also looked at pictures
Some do indeed seem to have the scoops mounted back further
And some seem to have the scoops mounted more centered from the front of the quarter panel and the wheel opening
Which is the approx. location of mine
I guess I'm not as much help to you as I had hope'd
Sorry about that
May be someone else will come forward with the correct answer
We know there must be other 70 coronets among us

I'll try to send a picture of mine

does your scoops have a gap between the quarter panel and the front of the scoop? or is it flush against the quarter panel?
