So I’m looking at my car and I’m thinking of what kinds of mods can o do to the car ?
The car had a Plymouth call out like the super bird and I removed that but what I do want something a bit more unique so I’m thinking of painting my wheel well trim a soft silver to tune down the chrome.
Anyone have any other ideas ? What have you done to the exterior of the car that’s improved the look ?
I’m going to remove the wheel well mouldings first and then paint then if I like it without I’ll leave it that way but if not they’ll be silver and I might silver out the star on the wheels too to take away some of the chrome. I think the car has a lot of chrome

Your car looks sooooo much better with those Plymouth decals removed imo. I'm not to familiar with Satellites, but what were the stripe options from the factory?

I believe those wheel well lip chrome pieces are very valuable, so don't just paint over them. Road Runner's and Belvederes (same body style) usually didn't have that chrome, so you can just take it off. Also, the chrome "side vents" could be replaced with ones from a Road Runner/Belvedere/GTX also (not chrome). That's a Sport Satellite, isn't it?

Anyway, you could change those aftermarket wheels for sure. If you really don't like chrome, maybe some black painted steel wheels with "dog dish" hub caps? You might want to take a look at GTX side stripes. You might look into factory Road Runner/GTX air grabber hoods or factory rear wing?

My thoughts exactly.

if you decide to not use the wheel trim I would be interested , mine were removed , before I got car , like the glitz

I don’t like the dog caps or the black wheels. It’s not for me but I did consider the 15x10 or nine rear with a 295/50/15 and a 15x7 or 6 if possible with a real narrow tire up front but I couldn’t do it

it looks like they reproduce the wheel mouldings but I’ll remove them first to see what it looks like. If I use any paint it’ll be plasti dip, they have a really nice silver that most people think is powder coating.

I’ll remove them but I’ll store them since I have a collection of wheel moldings lolz I removed the ones of my 69 camaro too

Looks great with the decals off. Now get rid of those awful wheels. So much bling and loud.

Next paint the white top black. It will tone top down the look of the car a whole bunch.

The WW trim is so subtle and a small amount of chrome that it won’t really change the chrome level to paint them. They are anodized aluminum so don’t scuff them to paint. The reproductions first like garbage so just know yours are more desirable than reprise.

You bought the deluxe model with trim on it and it’s a very nice looking car. Sounds like you should sell it and buy a 70 roadrunner because they have no trim on them.

Good point maybe I’ll just clone a roadrunner or a gtx

I don’t recommend either of those as an option. Get something that needs cosmetic improvement rather than alter a complete, nice, done car.

wheels are an easy change. Painting the vinyl top is also easy and it can last with proper preparation and materials used. Taking all that nice chrome off and plugging the holes means a new paint job.

Removed trim
Added sport satellite badges for now but might end up cloning a gtx after all

I almost bought that car myself - but I got deployed instead and couldn't close the deal before I left. It is a nice looking car - it really depends what your "style" is -- if you went GTX clone I would find an air-grabber hood, hood blackout treatment, white GTX side stripes, and painted steel wheels with correct caps.

That’s interesting
Did you see the car in person ? I wasn’t even really looking but it was a good car. I wish someone would have told me that owning a car this big was this much fun
