The car is a 1970 Superbird 440 4bbl with automatic transmission. It is a legitimate Superbird (VIN# RM23U0A165373). The original broadcast sheet and NASCAR PROGRAM documentation are available and support this fact. It was originally Alpine White from the factory. When the car came into the family in 1989, it was painted orange. It was fully restored in 1994 after an engine fire (caused by leak from after-market oil pressure gauge). This is when it was painted the current color, Sassy Grass Green (a 1971 Plymouth color) as the family could not decide on the correct shade of "Aggie maroon". It was professionally appraised at $175K (for insurance purposes) in May'2018 (documentation available upon request).
It received very little usage for ~10+ years and was serviced by Bumbera's Performance (Katy, TX) in 2018. A new gas tank, new carburetor and electronic ignition were installed to address previous difficulties with starting, amongst other items. Additionally, it received new battery, new tires, brakes, etc. These records are also available.
It still needs some attention to little things, e.g., dash lights not working, odometer has stopped working (a spare instrument cluster is available) and some general "TLC". Unfortunately, I do not presently have the time available to give this car the attention it needs/deserves.
As far as pricing, given the current list of known needs, the full appraisal price is not expected. Comparison against similar cars, it should price in the $125K range. However, reasonable offers will be entertained.
To recap:
1970 Plymouth Superbird
440-4bbl
Automatic transmission
50K'ish miles
Sassy Grass Green
Black interior, black vinyl top
Asking $125K OBO
Car is located in central Texas. Buyer responsible for transport/shipment.
Regards,
James
